This year has been an eventful one for the Weicks Media family! Back in December 2021, we joyfully moved into our new office building – something that was a long time coming, and finished settling in by the beginning of the year. To celebrate and build team morale, we went Duck Bowling in February, rolling around ski-balls to strike up some exciting competition.
In April, we had the pleasure of visiting Buff City Soap where our members customized their own bath bombs with unique ingredients. We got to be there all by ourselves before opening hours and enjoyed donuts and banter while crafting our bath bombs!
As summer rolled around, DaaBIN Store sponsored a car for racing season which gave us the opportunity to introduce Weicks Co. as an umbrella over Weicks Media. It’s been such an amazing ride so far!
On a scorching afternoon, our crew ventured out to the pond right outside of the office and were graced with an extraordinary fishing experience! The abundance of fish was arduous to resist – each cast seemed to have a nibble in mere seconds. Our party had great fun divvying up duties – half devoted their attention to taking the fish off their comrades’ lines while the others continued reeling in one catch after another.
In September we visited Hansen’s dairy farm in Hudson where we had a fantastic time petting kangaroos, bottle-feeding baby calves and even milking cows and making our own butter! It truly was an unforgettable day full of laughter and memories that will last us all a lifetime.
In October, we embraced our inner kid and headed to the pumpkin patch for an afternoon of autumnal festivities. We hopped on a hayride, strolled through a corn maze and picked out some pumpkins for our upcoming decorating contest. By mid-November, we were cheering on the Waterloo Black Hawks at a hockey game together! It was such a blast watching from the stands as the team fought for their victory — plus, there were a few lucky winners in our group who snagged prizes from the chuck-a-puck contest!
As the year draws to a close, we wanted to make sure that we kept our spirits high here at the office! For December, our team has been playing a fun version of Elf on the Shelf with Binnie the Elf – it’s been really amusing seeing all the creative pranks he comes up with!
